Professional Offset Printing Services: Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for reliable Offset printing services? From file specifications to delivery timelines, we’ve gathered the most common queries to help you navigate your printing project with ease. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, our team is just a message away.
. What’s the actual difference between offset and digital printing? When should I choose offset?
It really comes down to quantity and quality. Digital printing is like a giant, super-advanced office printer – great for short runs and quick turnarounds. Offset uses real ink and aluminum plates to stamp the image onto the paper. It takes more time to set up, but the print quality is incredibly sharp, colors are perfectly consistent, and it becomes drastically cheaper per piece once you get into higher volumes.
Can you match my exact corporate brand colors?
Yes, perfectly. If your brand relies on an exact color like a specific corporate blue or a vibrant red, digital printing can sometimes miss the mark. With offset, we use the Pantone Matching System (PMS). We physically mix the exact ink recipe before putting it on the press, guaranteeing your logo looks identical across your letterheads, brochures, and packaging.
How long does a typical offset print run take?
Generally, you’re looking at 3 to 5 business days once you approve the digital proof. Unlike digital prints that come out completely dry, offset uses real, wet commercial inks that need proper drying time before we can cut, fold, or laminate the sheets. If your project has complex finishes like embossing or die-cutting, it might add a day or two, but we’ll always give you a firm timeline upfront.
Can I see a sample or a proof before you print the whole batch?
Absolutely. We never start the presses blindly. First, we send you a high-resolution digital proof to check the layout and text. If you need to see the physical paper or color accuracy, we can provide a hard-copy proof. We highly recommend reviewing this carefully, because once the metal plates are made and the press starts running, we can’t make changes.
Why do my files need to be in CMYK instead of RGB?
RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is the color spectrum light makes on digital screens, like your laptop or phone. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is the spectrum made by physical ink on paper. If you send us an RGB file, the colors will look incredibly bright on your monitor, but they will look dull or shifted when printed. Converting your files to CMYK before sending them ensures what you see is what you get.
What does "bleed" mean, and why does my artwork need it?
When we print thousands of brochures, we print them on large sheets of paper and then cut them down to size using a heavy-duty industrial blade. Even the best blades can shift by a fraction of a millimeter. “Bleed” means extending your background color or image 3mm past the actual edge of your design. This gives us a safety margin so your final product doesn’t end up with a random, thin white line along the edge.
What kind of paper stocks can I choose from?
Just about anything you can think of. Because offset presses handle physical sheets smoothly, you aren’t limited to standard digital paper. We offer everything from lightweight 90 GSM flyers to heavy, premium 400 GSM cardstock. You can choose between smooth matte, high-gloss, elegant silk finishes, or even textured, eco-friendly recycled fine art papers. If you aren’t sure, we can guide you based on what you’re building.
Can I do variable data printing (like changing names or addresses) with offset?
Not directly on the offset press, because the image on the metal plate cannot change mid-run. However, we can do a hybrid process for you. We can use offset printing to print thousands of your brochures or envelopes in beautiful, high-end bulk quality, and then run them through our digital press to stamp the individual names, addresses, or barcodes.
