Professional Digital Printing Services: Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for reliable Digital printing services? From file specifications to delivery timelines, we’ve gathered the most common queries to help you navigate your printing project with ease. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, our team is just a message away.
What makes digital printing different from offset?
Digital printing works like an incredibly advanced, industrial version of a laser or inkjet printer, it prints directly from a digital file onto paper. Offset printing uses wet ink and physical metal plates. Because digital skips the whole plate-making process, it is much faster and cheaper for small quantities, though offset is still more economical for massive bulk orders.
Can I get my digital print order on the same day?
In many cases, yes. Because digital printing doesn’t require any machine setup or ink-drying time, we can turn small or medium projects around incredibly fast. If your files are print-ready and submitted early, we can often have them ready by the end of the day.
How accurate are the colors compared to offset?
Modern digital presses are incredibly precise and capture sharp details and vibrant tones beautifully. While offset printing is still the gold standard for exact Pantone color matching, our digital equipment is calibrated daily to match corporate CMYK profiles as closely as technically possible.
Can I personalize each item in the print run?
Yes, this is one of digital printing’s biggest strengths, known as Variable Data Printing (VDP). Since a computer guides the press, we can change names, addresses, barcodes, or images on every single piece without stopping the machine. It’s perfect for personalized event invitations or targeted corporate direct mail.
What is the highest paper thickness (GSM) you can print digitally?
Our production digital presses can smoothly handle heavy cardstock up to 350 GSM. This is perfect for premium business cards, heavy-duty covers for corporate profiles, and durable table menus.
Why do I need to convert my text to outlines before sending a file?
If your design uses a unique font that our computer system doesn’t have, the layout might break or substitute your text with a generic font when we open it. By converting your fonts to “outlines” or “curves” in your design software, you turn the text into solid vector shapes, ensuring it prints exactly how you designed it.
What file format is best for digital printing?
A high-resolution PDF is always the safest and best choice. Make sure your file is saved in CMYK color mode, has all fonts embedded or outlined, and is set to at least 300 DPI for crystal-clear images.
Can I do specialty finishes like spot UV or foil stamping on digital prints?
Yes. While these finishes traditionally required heavy metal dies, we offer modern digital embellishments. We can apply sleek spot UV gloss coatings or vibrant metallic foils directly onto digital prints, giving you that premium look even on short-run projects.
Can you deliver printed products to my location?
If I have a larger run of 2,000 brochures, should I still use digital?
For 2,000 brochures, offset printing will almost always give you a much better cost-per-unit value. Digital rates stay relatively flat per page, whereas offset gets exponentially cheaper as your volume grows. If you aren’t up against a 24-hour deadline, we will usually recommend offset for quantities that high.
